Interactive Installation, Interaction Design & Programming

Interactive Installation with two screens, two projectors a laptop and a mic. In “Breathe” the microphone input from the sound of the user’s breath is transformed into movement: a sky image which is projected in the surrounding screens moves accordingly to the pace of one’s breath. Inhaling one seems to approach the sky, while exhaling looks like stepping back.

Installation, Essay, Interaction Design & Programming

Interactive virtual sculpture based on the work “Light and Space Modulator” (1930) by the Hungarian painter, photographer, and Bauhaus professor, Laszlo Moholy Nagy who endorsed the mix of technology and contemporary industry in art and space. Ιn the initial work, the artist created a sculpture which changes its form and the way it interacts with light as the viewer walks around it. “Modulator V”, is a virtual sculpture based on “L+S Modulator”, which uses the same form tools as its predecessor and in which the viewer can walk in and around it, interact with the sculpture and move the elements that constitute it by using a keyboard and a mouse. He also leaves a colourful trail behind him thus marking his route and can enable screens to display the film L.M.Nagy did on the original sculpture of the 1930’s, in a kind of homage. The project‘s show took place in the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. More details here.

Concept, Interaction Design, Business Plan, Presentation

“u-Glue” was a start-up business proposal for Internet Innovation Competition entitled “Innovation 2006” held by mobile phone company Otenet. The proposals were divided in two major fields: the “Innovation” and the “Business” ones. Around 40 out of 1200 proposals where chosen to proceed with a detailed Business Plan after the first round of “drafts” to the second stage. Out of them, seven projects where chosen in each category for the final stage of the competition to be presented in front of a mixed crowd of businessmen, academics and Otenet specialists. “u-Glue” was one of them in the “Innovation” section. Τhe "u-Glue project" consisted of a platform that provided people who visit a certain website with real-time (and non only) communication. Based on the principle that people who visit the same websites must have some interests in common, it provided the users with the option of chat, post-it notes on the content and showed how many of the previous visitors chose each one of the links depicted on the website.
