Research, Essay and Lecture (in Greek)

The more eyes lay on something the more public it becomes. This essay argues that architecture can affect the behavior of it's users, based on an analysis of the concept of transparency: architectural transparency (glass facades, glass skins on buildings), electronic transparency (cameras in public spaces, “Big Brother” style TV shows) and social transparency (which doors can be locked in a house, where one dries one’s underwear). The essay comes to the conclusion that architecture itself–or transparency in architecture, to be more precise- can sculpt certain social behaviors in it’s inhabitants.
